Building on its ongoing work on democratic governance, rule of law and inclusive institutions, the United Nations Development Programme convened a Global Dialogue titled “Strategies to Strengthen Civic Space and the Civil Society Engagement in the HIV Response.”
This Dialogue took place on 3-4 November and consisted of panel discussions, interventions by select participants and interactive question-and-answer sessions with the audience to provide a forum for engaging in constructive dialogue on strategies to promote an open civic space and meaningful participation of civil society in the HIV response, including strategies to deliver on the ambition of the goals in the Global AIDS Strategy 2021-2026. Participants included representatives of PLHIV, key populations, delegations of UN Member States, government officials, multilateral organizations, civil society and academia.
