On 30 September 2021, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Government of Namibia and the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC) hosted a joint dialogue titled “Trends and Strategies in the Use of Competition Law to Promote Innovation of and Affordable Access to Health Technologies”.
Government and multilateral officials, prominent academics and other esteemed guests discussed global and national trends and lessons learned in the use of competition law in the health sector as a strategy to increase access to medicines, vaccines and other health technologies. The event also included a presentation on the key findings from the upcoming 2021 Supplement to the UNDP Guidebook: Using Competition Law to Promote Access to Medicines in low and middle-income settings.
