Homa Bay Court Users Committee Pledge to Develop a Strategic Plan to address Issues of HIV and AIDS in the County

Commissioner Catherine Mumma, of the Commission on Implementation of the Constitution and a board member of KELIN presented on “The role of the Court Users Committee: The Rights Based Approach when dealing with issues of HIV”. She encouraged the participants to interrogate Article 10 of the Constitution, reminding them that members of the CUC comprises are bound by the constitutional values of good governance, transparency, integrity and accountability.
At the end of the Dialogue, the resident magistrate, Hon. Nelly Kariuki, a member of the CUC had this to say, “We would like to thank KELIN and UNDP for bringing this dialogue to Homa Bay, I found myself learning a lot even things I thought I knew.”
The following key commitments were made by the participants at the end of the meeting:
- Formulate a strategic plan on the interventions that will be undertaken by the CUC.
- Task an implementing committee to ensure that the interventions agreed upon in the strategic plan shall be carried out.
